Cross Platform Apps
Why suggest a cross-platform application: more affordable option, faster development speed and lower maintenace costs.
We can develop native applications at a clients request. We currently have 2 native applications currently in development. However we also develop cross platform applications. We recently converted one of our clients from a native application to a cross platform application. He was relieved to know that he would save potentially thousands a year with using one cross-platform application vs two native applications. The cost to find experienced developers in both platforms is very costly and also double because they need to make updates to both platforms.
We use a platform called React Native to develop our cross platform applications. React Native was created by Facebook and released in 2015. At the time of this article React Native powered Airbnb, Instagram, Bloomberg and many more large brands. Our development team personally favors React Native and are currently building several apps using the platform. When you suggest to your clients a cross-platform app please emphasize the larger brands already using the platform.
There are cases when we would not advise for you to suggest a cross platform application. Cases when we would not advise to use a cross-platform app includes: when the app needs a very visual design, when the requires many animations, or when heavy calculations are needed. There are other cases but we just wanted to name a few. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact us.
